Versioned program specifications
Publication lifecycle
A published program specification is a controlled statement of scope. Material changes should create a new identifiable version rather than silently rewriting the meaning of an existing program.
Draft
New or materially revised content is assembled against a defined scope and intended audience.
Technical review
Content, learning outcomes, terminology, quality/safety boundaries and assessment intent are checked before publication.
Published
The version is the current public specification for the stated scope.
Superseded / archived
A newer version or retired scope replaces the prior publication while the historical version remains identifiable.

Outcome change
A material change to what the program claims the learner should understand or demonstrate.
Assessment change
A material change to passing rules, required evidence, assessment type or decision criteria.
Scope change
A material addition or removal of machines, processes, roles, prerequisite assumptions or qualification boundaries.
Record meaning
Any change that would alter what a completion, certificate or other issued record attests to.
Source hierarchy
Technical content may draw from established industrial practice, controlled employer documents where provided, OEM information, applicable standards context and subject-matter review. Employer-controlled documents remain authoritative for that employer's work.

Safety and authorization boundary
Training supports understanding. Machine procedures, work instructions, safeguards, employer qualification and legally required authorization remain controlling for real work.

Major version

Minor version
Meaningful curriculum expansion or restructuring that does not change the core record claim.
Editorial revision
Clarifications, wording, references or presentation changes that do not materially change requirements.
